Our People

In the past four days there have been terrible attacks in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, South Africa. People are being kicked off their houses. It is claimed a xenophobic behaviour. The residents of Alex accuse the foreigners of taking their jobs.
I personally think that something is wrong with the South Africans I know I am South African but this worries me to death. Firstly, most black South Africans do not want to work hard and they want a short cut to success. They want to be spoon fed, and now things are starting to be difficult with all the food prices increasing and they blame it on the foreigners.
These people come to the country because they want a better life and safety, when they get here they don't pick and choose jobs like most of the South Africans do. They do not complain for unnecesarily things. They know they have to work for a living.
The government is not our parent. It is here to oversee our rights, to enforce the law and to make sure the country's economy is stable. The issue of who business people employ, does not take any body's rights. We are surviving in this place, as long as we do not encroach on other people's rights and safety, that is cool.
South Africans need to stand for themselves and stop living like barbarians (not all of them of course), they should use their minds, they are not babies to the government. They are not animals either, that they will solve their problems through violence, for me that is a weakness.
Nqakula said the problem was "not essentially a police matter", but a "social problem" - local communities needed to understand the "political necessity" for them to accommodate people from other countries.
I hope what he said also give some light as to why people from other countries should be let to stay in South Africa.

Game Day.

I feel great today, maybe it is because, as the advert goes, I got it all this morning. Everyone will go to a match this afternoon, therefore I will be alone in the office. I will do what I need to finish and then start with my business.

I am going to post some of the things that I do, and please let me know if you like it.

Share your perceptions and stories about your office life.

Ofice Politics

Dear Everybody.

This is my first blog ever. I would like to introduce myself in this wonderful blogging world. I work for an event management company as a receptionist. Our biggest client is the biggest soccer team in South Africa.

The politics in the office I work in are amazing. People get away with things and they leave you to burn in a frying pan for what they did. Not everything is bad, some things are good, since there are other people who will be by your side and respect you. Just because I am a receptionist, it does not mean that I need to be treated like I am nothing.

For now am upset at my boss, who just does not appreciatethe effort we put to get his company running smooth. Some of the people in the management positions do not do anything but when things do not go well, the spit on the junior stuff, my self included.

If you were to be in my office, you will know that what the junior staff does, is what should be done by the senior staff.

I know there are other offices who treat people like they are pieces of dirt.

I just wanted to take it off my chest. If anyone has the same problem, please feel free to comment or share with us.

The purpose of this blog is not about bad things, some other fun and nice things can be aid in The Office.

Love oyu all.
